It was a pleasure to photograph Katie and Jamie’s Hertfordshire tipi wedding recently at Lodge Farm House in Hitchin.

We were asked to do the photography and video for this super cool couple and couldn’t wait to get our teeth into a new venue, especially one which has so much creative input from the brides and grooms. Everybody loves an outdoor, DIY wedding right?

The gorgeous bride-to-be readied herself in the on site Farm House, while the boys opted for the less glamorous approach and squeezed into the back of a VW camper. Even so, both locations made for some really quirky photos.

The ceremony took place within the secret gardens at Lodge Farm, an awesome location, hidden amongst the trees. It was perfectly suited to the rustic theme that was consistent throughout. The bride’s uncle officiated the ceremony, keeping it light hearted but with certain religious aspects too.

Once the formalities had been sorted, the wedding party gathered outside the farm house for live music and canapes. It was great to capture the chilled vibe. We were also able to take the newly weds off for some portraits around the grounds of the venue. They were such an easy pair to work with, so relaxed and natural…perfect for the photography and film.

The remainder of the day took place within the tipis – food, speeches, and some ace singing waiters. They’re always guaranteed to get the party started. Some of the grooms mates offered to DJ on the evening, and didn’t fail in getting feet on the dancefloor…I’m sure that’s how it would have remained for the rest of the evening.

Thanks once again for booking with David Boynton Wedding Photography + Film. Katie and Jamie’s wedding was a blast and here are a few images which show it off nicely. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch, if you’d like us to photograph your big day!!
